| The traditional treatment for fractures and other injuries or therapy after operations lead to the long-term immobilization - traditionally in a plaster cast. Dynamic splinting provides constant force over a long period of time. Active motion can be encouraged. The pumping effect of muscle contraction helps relieve edema and increases joint range of motion. For the different kinds of injuries one can choose between static or dynamic splinting.
